Nokia E73 Mode review

The Nokia E73 is taking a fashion-specific T-Mobile on the Nokia E72, which was announced last year. It comes loaded to the gills with standard features for both work and play. It has a tablet shape, with a QVGA screen, keyboard, 5-megapixel camera and more. The E73 mode will be added later this week for only $ 70 with contract.
Design & Build
One of the thinnest mobile devices today (0.4 or 10 mm), the E73 packs a QVGA (320×240 pixel) screen and keyboard into a useful one well-designed package. It is a while since my hands on a smart phone with this form factor and the E73 mode reminded me once what I liked about what Nokia’s happened here. The hard plastic and metal casing feels very solid and high quality. And the keyboard – which was already very much on the E71 and E71x models rank – gets a bit more for the E73 mode, optimized adding features and improving the overall feel.

If you think not the QWERTY smartphone, Nokia could be very high on the list. But its sales have proved worldwide to be better than most other decision-makers have (second only to RIM), and the company certainly had a loyal fan base. On what I had not expected was to optical and control pad. The D-Pad works something like a trackpad, just need a gesture to move it, but it has the ability to accept button presses for more direct interaction. At first it was worrying, now I can not see the device without it.
PERFORMANCE
The Nokia E73 runs the Symbian operating mode OS with the Series 60 user interface. While not as well known in the U.S., it is very popular in Europe.

The E73-mode is also available with wireless capability. Of course, it supports T-Mobile’s 3G network, and it also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The E73 sports a 1500 mAh battery. I only had a few days for testing so far, but I can already say that the battery life is pretty good, even with a consistent 3G signal.
CONCLUSION
I am looking forward to more time with the Nokia E73 not only to fashion an idea of how the improved models to be seen on the E71 E71x E72, but also, if I can enter the battery a real test. Nokia E-Series models are known for their hard to crack in this department, and since the competition is higher (the price of E73 mode is only $ 70 with a two-year contract), it’s a good chance of T -Mobile have a Champ on his hands.
