Apple sells only 5,000 official iPhones in China

Not that this should not surprise anyone, but Apple has only 5,000 iPhones since last week when it officially for sale. The term “official” is the key, as people have succeeded in the iPhone on the gray market for some time to buy. And it is a superior phone on the gray market, as the official phone does not have Wi-Fi. That’s right: in 2010, almost a smartphone that does not have Wi-Fi.
The phone is not very expensive, but that’s not the problem. The problem is that China Unicom, and Apple was a crippled version of a phone that has been widely released.
Who’s gonna buy that? Apparently very few people!
Someone, and I do not know who expects as much as Apple’s official iPhone in China to sell 460,000 per year. Note that even less than the number of gray-market phones, so that all of this is sorta silly.
