Motorola W7 Active Edition
Troubled U.S. phone manufacturer Motorola announced today the W7 Active Edition, a motion-enabled slider meaning that the body movements to perform tasks such as the introduction of its integrated step counter, silencing incoming calls or control of the music player.
The Schaumburg, Ill., company said the W7 with an integrated accelerometer to sense the body motion, orientation and hand gestures.
The answers to a cover of the phone and silence incoming calls, the snooze alarm and stops the music. A film of the wrist to the left or right to move between music tracks and photos.
Shake twice to start the device can be preset.
The W7 also comes pre-loaded with motion-controlled games.
An integrated pedometer allows users a personal profile to goals, workouts complete summary and review of the reports.
Other features are a 2.0-megapixel camera, MP3 player, FM radio and up to 8 GB optional external memory.
Motorola has struggled, reporting further losses amounting to a hefty 45 percent from a year ago.
The company successfully with its popular RAZR handset in 2005, but has a substantial loss to Apple and BlackBerry manufacturer Research in Motion as a major handset makers to more smartphones.
