Worms comes to iPhone
There were one billion downloads from the App Store from Apple, but who knows how many of these titles were then removed and grunts in the midst of disappointment. That is not the grunt we expect to hear for the next Team17 Worms for iPhone and iPod touch, here in a few exclusive screenshots from Pocket Gamer.Like the classic version of Worms, first published in 1995, the iPhone uses a title 2D environment where the idea to destroy opposing team of worms militant. The players take it in to different weapons, including exploding sheep, with the winners of either the first to wipe out their rivals, or the person with the most health points left, when the time runs out.
On the iPhone and iPod touch, the touchscreen is used for the target and scrolling, zooming, with pinch is apparently for the navigation in the 2D play area. We hope there are also local and remote two-player mode, where you can either play against friends by using the iPhone between you, or via an Internet connection.
No word on the release, but the presumption is that Worms for iPhone and iPod touch is relatively imminent based on the state of the screenshots.
