Pharos Traveler 127

Pharos Traveler 127

The Pharos Traveler 127 may look like a BlackBerry, at first glance, but it is a Windows Mobile Professional smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless connectivity (in addition to GPRS) and an integrated GPS that are ensure that you are never lost, even if you do not have phone coverage. It is a little larger than some of the phones available, but it packs in a lot of functions, the trade-off worthwhile. Unfortunately, it is not directly from a carrier, and is currently being sold as an unlocked GSM smartphone.

I would really love this device, but I simply can not offer me the Pharos Traveler 127.

The built in GPS is very fast, if the identification of my location, but the menu system is clunky and does not offer anything close to a flawless experience of the carrier-mediated services such as Verizon. It is not really into the unit as a whole, but is a completely separate system from the right phone, which is a shame. Since the GPS is one of the biggest draws for this phone, and since they are not directly from a U.S. carrier and is therefore much more expensive than a subsidized device, it might be best to test Traveler 127, in person, if possible, before you buy it.
